I think that he was depressed about not finishing his horse because he wanted to be remembered by people and his horse was destroyed so he thought no one would remember him.
I think Leonardo da Vinci was so upset about not finishing the twenty six foot horse because the French war peeps tore it down.Another reason is that that was his biggest project he wanted to create a flying machine,but he failed.I have one more suggestion. I think he might of liked to die without Michelangelo mocking him for life.

I think that Leonard was upset because he didn't finished his horse and wanted people to see how great he did on the horse and maybe it might took him days to make the horse.
Mr. Da Vinci was a man who spent his whole life on dreaming and having his dreams come true. He must have been a horse lover and therefore, this project was dear to his heart

I think that Leonardo would be upset because he wanted people to see his beautiful horse and for people to enjoy it. I mean, he must have REALLY cared about that horse. But that's just what I think.
