Boston Massacre

The revolutionaries used the Boston Massacre for propaganda. They wanted the incident to help get people angry at the British Government. Why do you think John Adams, who later became the second President of the United States, rose to the defense of the soldiers involved in the incident?

We think that John Adams rose to the defense of the soldiers because he thought that the soldiers needed a fair trial. John Adams thought that
one of the soldiers probably got nervous, and accidently fired a gunshot, and that was how it all started.

John Adams rose to the defense of the soldiers because he didn't think it was fair for the soldiers to get arrested if they shot the people for an accident. It was an accident.

The British Soldiers didn't do anything wrong... the people in the colonies were attacking them and one soldier fired his gun by accident and they are trained to shoot when another person shoots. All of them shot and five colonists died. The People involved in the accident tried to make British Government mad at the incident, but the British soldiers had nothing to do with it. John Adams stood up to the British soldiers because it wasn't their faults they shot them.
