Which Would You Give Up?

Below are the first ten amendments to the Constitution. We call them the Bill of Rights. If you were forced to give one up, which would you choose? Why?

Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

No soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law.

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a grand jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the militia, when in actual service in time of war or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.

In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the state and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the assistance of counsel for his defense.

In suits at common law, where the value in controversy shall exceed twenty dollars, the right of trial by jury shall be preserved, and no fact tried by a jury, shall be otherwise reexamined in any court of the United States, than according to the rules of the common law.

Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.

The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.

I think amendment number three would be the one i would give up, because that wont happen now.

I would give up amendment 2 because I can't use a gun yet and I would not want to hart anyone.

I would give up the 2 Amendment, because why would I kill a robber with will I get and jail.

Amendment 10 because the states should have a say in the law.

I think that I would take away Amendment 3, because I don't really care if I would have to house a soldier. It is not really important know because there is no war here. also the war is at Irac not here.

The amendment that I would give up would be the speech because I do not want to have a voice in what people say or do.

I would give up amendment #v because people should respond to the court and not say "I PLEAD THE FIFTH".

If I were to give up one amendment I would give up the amendment number 4 because if they write stuff about me I could talk to the court room and tell him to talk to the newspaper workers to do there work right.

Amendment I because I wouldn't want the freedom of religion I would do whatever religion.

I will take away the press because the press does not mean anything to the Bill of Rights.

I would take away the second amendment because the military take care of itself.

If I was forced to give up one of the amendments in the Bill of Rights I would give up Amendment II, which is the right to bear arms. I would give this up because some people don't feel the need to own a weapon, so for a lot of people, including me, it's not very important.

If I had to take a amendment of I would take amendment 2 because people
do not need a gun.

I would give up the 9th amendment because the 9th amendment is not as powerful as the other amendment,s.

The amendment that I would give up would be the third amendment because we don't have soldiers anymore. we have the Navy and stuff like that. We also don't need to house soldiers at war time.

I would get rid of Amendment IX because it just talks about rights that are not in the Constitution

I would give up the third Amendment because all you have to do is feed and house soldiers.

I would give up the Amendment number 9 because it says almost the same 10 so nothing is taken away.

If I was forced to give up one of the first ten amendment i would give up number nine because most of what it says is on number ten so it wont change anything.

If i had to give up on of my Amendment.I would give up the 5 Amendment,because I'm not ever going to jail so I don't have to worry about pleading the 5.

I would give up the second amendment because I would never want to be in trouble for having a gun in my hands. But no matter wich one anyone picks it would be a hard decision because all of these amendments have its own rights.

I would choose the eighth Amendment because it doesn't have cruel and unusual punishment.

In my opcction i would give up the eight amendment because i would not want to get hung up or get electricities an electric chair.

I would get rid of the fifth amendment so bad peoplewill go to jail.

I will take out the fifth amendment because people should have the right to answer for the capital.

I would have taken the second amendment because if someone brook into my house i could stab,or beat up that person.

The one that i would give up of the amendment is the ninth amendment because is kind of the same like the tenth amendment.

I would give up the Amendment three
because soldiers wouldn't shut down
bases to come to your house. Plus you wouldn't want to be somewhere that there's war any was.

i would choose the freedom of speech
because if you chose the freedom of
religion then you wouldn't be able to be a cristian or a babtist etc.
if you chose the freedom the press
then you wouldn't be any news on tv
or even news papers. same with the freedom of assembly and petition
but even though they are all good
i would still pick that one.

I have to give up the second Amendment. Because you don`t need a gun when someone break in.

IF I HAD TO GIVE UP ONE OF THE TEN AMENDMENT I WOULD GIVE AMENDMENT III
BECAUSE WE DON'T HAVE TO HOUSE SOLDIERS ANY MORE BECAUSE IN IRAQ WE HAVE BASES FOR THE SOLDIERS TO STAY AT. THAT IS THE AMENDMENT I WOULD GIVE UP.

I will give up the III. Amendment. The reason I will give it up is I dot rely care if there is a solder in my home.

I would choose amendment 10 because some powers should be for the government cause they give us alot of things and people and the states should have less power than the government cause some people could use the powers for really bad things.

I would give up amendment || and maybe change it a little... only citizens who are legally told they can wield a gun. It'd also be better if you had to have a liscense to have a gun. Like if someone that'd shoot someone came in and didn't have a liscense they couldn't get a gun!!

I will give up Amendment 8 because people that kill people shall have excessive bail so they know not to kill anyone no more.

I would give up amendment 2 because it is a well regulated militia being necessary to the security of afree state.

I would give up amendment number 8 because if they did something that they knew they would get caught for doing then...they do deserve to have an extreme punishment!!!

I would be able to live without Amendment #6 because I don't think a criminal should have luxuries such as a jury and lawyer. I mean if they are actually criminals why should they be treated to a jury and a lawyer.

I will give up the 3rd Amendment because in the past American colonists fought the American Revolution.

Amendment 2 would be my choices because if you were only 8 years
old or 9 and 10 and you had a gun and no one told you the rules you could've shot someone with it and you would be charge with murder.

The second amendment because i don't think its fair because certain people can walk with guns around Towns and City's and other people can't

If I had to give a amendment I would give up amendment #8 because I wouldn't want to be hurt or punished badly and unfairly.
