Weather Cycle Animations Using Pivot Stickfigure Animator

animated ricky

We are going to use Pivot Stickfigure Animator to create a video of the water cycle. The software should be installed on your compter. If it is not, see me.

BBC has a video of the water cycle. Watch the video to get an idea about how you will create your water cycle.

Label the water cycle: evaporation, condensation, precipitation, transpiration, and run off

I have played with Pivot Stickfigure Animator and it is fun. Making the movements look natural is tricky at first but the trick is to persevere. I look forward to seeing your final animations.

Perfect! We've just done the Water Cycle this week in New Zealand, for assessment purposes we had to do the traditional static image but I can use this in addition to that to motivate and inspire the students. Also some of my students are keen to use Pivot now too!

@Myles The ability to put in a background image and animate over it makes it perfect for this type of activity. You should check out some of the ones the students are working on at the 8th grade group. You can find the link on the left side of the blog.

@ Wm Chamberlain - will do. Two of the students in my classroom saw the activity, hadn't been exposed to Pivot before and love it! They are currently in the process of creating their own Pivot animation inspired by your students and will now use your 8th Grade Work as exemplars. Thanks again!
