My students wrote postcards pretending to be Stanley Yelnats. Stanley's letters lied about his activities at Camp Green Lake. He told her that he was swimming and canoeing instead of digging holes. He did not want his mother to worry about him.We had a good discussion in class about if Stanley did the right thing. We decided that Stanley really had three choices: to lie, to tell the truth, or to not write at all. Which would you have chosen? Explain your answer.

If I was stanley I would not lie to my parents because I would die when I get home.
if I was stanley I would tell the truth because if I lied I would have to stay in there longer and get more told of my mum would be angry.
If I was stanley I wood tell the truth but I wood just mention the good stuth like he made friends so his mum would not worry.
If I was stanley I would tell the truth beacuse you should never lie to your family
If I was stanley I would not write at all because if you lie your mother would think you are okay. And if you tell the truth your mother would worry so thats why I would not write at all
If i was stanley i would lie to my preants because if i didn't my mum will start to worry.Then she would pick me up and then she will look at all the cuts and bruises on me and say do you think I'm made out of band aids? Do you think band aids grow on trees? Do you think band aids are sold at the corner store? and then she would send me straight back there!
If I was stanley I would tell the so mum could tell the judge and get all the kids out of camp green lake.
if i was stanley i would not of lide to his mum because his mum might find out sonner or later
