Phases of the Moon

For our study of the phases of the moon I have chosen two sites to explore. Carefully follow all directions.

Here is a link to the United States Naval Observatory Phases of the Moon and Percent of the Moon Illuminated page. Write the different phases of the moon and draw graphic representations of each.

Here is a link to the University of Utah's ASPIRE site. Click the Lunar Phases link then follow the instructions. Follow the directions on the Lunar Phases page.

Be prepared for an assessment on Tuesday on the eight phases identified on the first site.

Cause of the cycle of the phases, the
suns light causes part of the moon to light up and the rest as a shadow. The reason why we don't see all the moons at the same time is cause of the place where we are on earth cause the shadow to not be seen.

We have phases of Moons because if we didn't have phases the Earth would have no reason to move.

we have phases of the moon because it produces our light and our darkness. if we didn't have phases than we wouldn't have day or night.the reason we cant see the shadow of the moon is because where we are on earth we cant see the moon.

We have phases of the moons because the light causes part of moon to light and the other half of it to have shadows. And sometimes we could not see all of the moons at the same time because you can't see the shadow that much. And the moons have to appear at one time each of them.

Because the rotation of the earth we see the moon in phases like the first quarter.

The Moon's rotate around the Earth.

We have phases because as the moon orbits Earth sunlight "shines" on different parts of the moon on the side of the moon we can see.
